User Experience Enhancements

Auto-Complete - Auto-complete email addresses when typing in the To, CC and BCC field of email composition
Auto-recognize Email Addresses - In email message view, the system will  auto-recognize email addresses in email bodies and make them email-able links
Advanced Search - In the “Advanced Search” dialog, clicking a checkbox next to a parent folder in the folder tree will only search within the parent directory
Automatically add new email addresses to contacts when receiving email
Flagging Emails By Level of Importance - Ability to flag emails by level of importance: High, Normal, or Low
CC & BCC Collapsed - In email composition window, CC & BCC fields will be collapsed to free up screen space
Save Draft - Saving draft will no longer close the email composition window
Pop-up Windows in Email Rich-Text Editor  - Insert link or attachment no longer pop under the active window
Multiple Recipients In To, CC & BCC List - When adding recipients to a message’s To, CC, & BCC list, the box will expand & roll up
Cursor Within Email Compose Window - When composing a new email, the cursor will be in the “To” field, not in the message body.  When replying to a message, the cursor will be in the message body.
Multiple File Attachment - Reduced the number of pop-up windows that a user has to navigate to get to the file attachment dialog
Reply And Forward Flags - Email messages which have either been forwarded or replied-to will be flagged appropriately

GDS Enhancements

Customized layout manager (may be saved)- Adds the ability to automatically save changes to a layout and add pods from other applications to the layout.
Pop-Out/Pop-In functionality- New Email, New Task, New Event, and New Contact shall exist in both pop-up and pod form.  The pod dialog shall include a ‘pop-out’ icon in the title bar that will close the pod and open the pop-up version.  Pod-based dialog boxes offer superior performance and can more easily offer enhanced functionality due to their access to the already loaded GDS objects.
Combined Quick Calendar and Shared Calendar- The scheduler and shared calendar pods shall be combined into one pod using tabs to select with component.
New Calendar Display- If more events exist for a given day than can be displayed, a “+X Events” will be displayed at the bottom of the day, where X is the number of undisplayed events.

BlueTie Application Updates are here!

Blue Tie

We're Making Your BlueTie Calendar Even Better!

We have made a number of upgrades to your BlueTie application recently.

BlueTie Calendar Updates
Something you will notice immediately is the increased speed of your BlueTie Calendar.

Your calendar has also changed, making it more user-friendly. High level changes and updates include the following:

Quick Calendar and Shared Calendar
These two calendars are now merged into a single area within your BlueTie Calendar, and appear as tabs. To change your view, simply click on the tab of the calendar you would like to see.

Daily, Weekly and Monthly Views
Your daily, weekly and monthly calendar views will be tabs at the top of your calendar view, rather than buttons. They will also be labeled with text rather than images to make them easier to recognize.

Monthly Calendar View
You will be able to adjust the size of your monthly calendar view to fit your screen. The new monthly calendar view will scale rather than scroll like the current version.

You may notice "X Events" on certain days within your monthly calendar view once the changes have been implemented. "X Events" will indicate that you have more events on the given day that can be listed. The "X" will actually be the number of events that are not shown. You will simply need to click on the link to see all the events listed for that particular day.

Custom Date Range
The new calendar will also allow you to choose a custom date range. You'll simply need to drag through the dates you would like to see on your Quick Calendar. You will then see a new tab pop up in Calendar display. Click on that new tab and your view will only include the dates you've chosen, similar to your daily calendar view.

Additional Updates
We have implemented a number of additional changes as well:

Layout Manager
You may already know that you can shift pods around within your BlueTie application. Move your inbox to the right side of your screen; shift or collapse the quota bar. Allow for more room to view folders. Make it your own. Well, you will soon have the option to save those changes, so that you don't have to worry about adjusting the layout every time you log into your account.

Meeting Requests
You will also be able to attach files to meeting requests. You will be able to attach files to a new meeting request, so that all applicable documentation is available when you send the notice. You will also have the option of attaching files AFTER a notice has been sent, simply by attaching the files to the event in your calendar...there's no need to send the invitation again. The file will be attached to the event and all recipients will have access to the file.

Sincerely,

The BlueTie Support Team
