Blackberry

Blackberry devices can receive emails in one of three ways:

Forward all emails to the blackberry email address

  1. Login to the web application
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click Email Forwarding
  4. Click the Status to On
  5. Type the blackberry email address into the Delivery field (if not known contact your service provider such as Verizon, Cingular,etc)
  6. Check Save local copy
  7. Click the Save button

Setup POP account using the service provider website

  1. Login to the blackberry email setup page provided by the service provider
  2. Email setup pages vary from service provider to service provider but will all require the following settings:

 

Incoming mail server: pop.bluetie.com
Incoming mail port: 110
Requires SSL: No
Email Address: The email address assigned to your BlueTie account
Username: BlueTie Username (username.enterprise or email address)
Password: The password for the BlueTie account (case sensitive)

Setup IMAP account using the service provider website

  1. Login to the blackberry email setup page provided by the service provider
  2. Email setup pages vary from service provider to service provider but will all require the following settings:

 

Incoming mail server: imap.bluetie.com
Incoming mail port: 143
Requires SSL: No
Email Address: The email address assigned to your BlueTie account
Username: BlueTie Username (username.enterprise or email address)
Password: The password for the BlueTie account (case sensitive)

 

*If you receive a bounce back error when sending via your BlackBerry that looks like this:

554 5.7.1 Sender address rejected: BlueTie SMTP R5: unauthorized use of domain

Please check your outgoing server settings on your Blackberry Device. Verify that the outgoing server is set to SMTP.BLUETIE.COM. This error usually results in sending out via a BlueTie email address from a server other than BlueTie's outgoing server.

  1. How To Obtain the BlueTie Calendar for Android
    • We are on the Google Play Store, search for BlueTie Calendar on you phone or click the badge below.

  2. Setting Up Your Initial Profile
      Setting up your initial profile couldn't be easier.
      The first time you load the BlueTie Calendar App, The following screen will appear.
      Just fill in your Username and Password and click configure.


  3. Switching Between Calendar(events) and Tasks
      To switch between the Calendar(events) and Tasks push the menu key on your phone.
      Then click either Tasks or Events (depending on what mode you are in).


  4. Add/Remove a Profile
      1. Click the menu button on your phone and click settings.
      2. Click the Profiles Button.
    • Adding a Profile
      1. Click the Add Profile Button.
      2. Click the BlueTie Logo.
      3. Click on Username and enter your username and Click on Password and enter your Password and click Apply
      4. Click Apply.

    • Removing a Profile
      1. Long Press on the profile you want to delete.
      2. Click delete.


  5. Manually ReSync Your Calendars & Tasks
      Do the following steps to manually sync your calendar:
    • a.) Click the menu key on your phone and press settings.
    • b.) Click on "Calendars and Addressbooks".
    • c.) Long press on the calendar that you wish to sync.
    • d.) Click "Synchronise Now or Force Resynchronisation".


  6. Sync BlueTie contacts to your phone
    • Navigate to the settings menu on your phone.
    • Locate the accounts section and press "Add account"
    • Press "Add account" and select BlueTie Mobile Sync
    • Choose the address-book you want to sync with. Look for the word address-book in the smaller text
    • Tap the BlueTie Mobile Sync account in the settings menu
    • Select the BlueTie account to enable syncing
    • Tap the check box to begin syncing
    • Success! Your BlueTie personal BlueTie contacts are now synced to your phone You can view these contacts from the Android Contacts App.
      Note: You can only sync contacts to your phone, not back to BlueTie

Calendar, Tasks, and Contacts for iPhone

Android Calendar Support

  1. Setting up your account
    • Navigate to the Settings menu on your iPhone.
    • Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    • Select Add Account
    • Select Other
    • Here you can choose either Calendar or Contacts Select Add CalDAV Account to sync your calendar Select Add CardDAV Account to sync your contacts
    • Enter 'dav.bluetie.com' into the server field Also enter your bluetie login information Select Next when done
    • If you are setting up a calendar account, you can choose to enable Calendar and/or Reminders (Tasks)
    • Success! Your BlueTie events/contacts are now being synced with your iPhone


  2. View Calendar events
    • Open the Calendar App
    • Select Calendars on the bottom of the screen
    • If there is not already a check, press the account so it will show up on the calendar. You may also want to disable any other calendars that you don't need. Additionally, you can refresh the calendar by swiping down on this screen
    • From the main calendar screen you can press a day to view events occurring on that day
    • To create a new event, press the plus symbol in the top right, or long press on a time during the day
    • Enter the details of the event you are creating
      NOTE: Make sure the event is being added to the correct calendar, otherwise it will not sync with BlueTie
    • Press Done to save the event and have it sync with your BlueTie calendar


  3. View Task reminders
    • Open the Reminders App
    • Press anywhere on a new line to create a new task.
    • You can also edit the task more specifically by pressing the i symbol


  4. View Contacts
    • Open the Contacts App
    • Press on Groups in the top left to select which contacts to sync
    • Here you can select which contacts to show in the App
    • From main Contacts screen, you can create new contacts with the plus symbol
  5. Remove a Calendar/Contacts account
    • Navigate to the Settings menu on your iPhone.
    • Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    • Press the account you want to delete
    • Select Delete Account to remove the account from your iPhone

Cingular 2125, T-Mobile MDA

Cingular 2125, T-Mobile MDA

  1. On the Home screen, click Start
  2. Select Messaging and click any item on the Messaging screen
  3. Click Menu, then Options, and then New Account
  4. Type Your Name and E-mail address
  5. Select to Automatically configure the account settings. If unsuccessful enter the settings below:

User name: This is the username for your email account
Password: This is the password assigned to your account
Domain: Not required
Server type: POP3
Account name: Enter a unique name for the account such as "Work" or "Home"
Incoming server: pop.bluetie.com
Require SSL connection: Not supported
Outgoing server: smtp.bluetie.com
Outgoing server requires authentication: YES
Outgoing server settings: Use same settings as incoming server

Droid

Email Setup

Step 1:
From the home screen, open the Applications Tray, and then touch Email.

Step 2:
Enter your Email address and Password then select Next.*

Step 3:
Enter a name for your account
, the name to be displayed on outgoing messages then select Done. Your account is setup and your Inbox will be displayed. If prompted for type of account go to Step 4.

Step 4:
Select the type of email account. (POP/IMAP)

Step 5
Enter your Incoming Server Settings:

POP: pop.bluetie.com

IMAP: imap.bluetie.com

Then select Next.

Step 6
Enter the Outgoing Server Settings: smtp.bluetie.com

 

NOTE:

Note that there is a known issue with the email client built into the Droid.  On some devices, the application will continuously force close. You can obtain more information about that issue here:

iOS Devices

From any iOS device, enter your account information and press submit to automatically set up your mobile email and/or calendar services.
NOTE: This download will only work using the Safari browser on an iOS device.

NOTE: The email profile can be removed at any time by going to Settings, General, then scrolling down to Profiles.

iPhone

Setting up a POP account on an iPhone 

    1. If this is the first email account you’re setting up on your iPhone, tap Mail. Otherwise, from the Home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the Settings screen, tap Mail.
    3. On the Mail screen, under Accounts, tap Add Account.
    4. On the Add Account screen, tap Other.
    5. Select POP and then enter your account information using your keypad.
    6. Enter your name as you would like it displayed when sending messages.
    7. Email Address: The email address assigned to your BlueTie account
    8. Enter a description of this account. The description displays in your email account list on your iPhone.
    9. In the Incoming mail server, HOST Name field, type pop.bluetie.com
    10. Enter your Username for your account (or email address) and Password
    11. In the Outgoing Mail Server field type smtp.bluetie.com
    12. Enter your Username for your account (or email address) and Password
    13. Press Save to continue
    14. Go to Home > Settings > Mail > Accounts
    15. Tap on your BlueTie Account
    16. Scroll down and tap on Advanced
    17. Verify under Incoming Mail ServerIncoming Uses SSL to OFF, with Incoming Server Port being set to 110 and Outgoing Uses SSL  is optional with the Outgoing Server port being 25 or 5125.

 

Setting up a IMAP account on an iPhone

    1. If this is the first email account you’re setting up on your iPhone, tap Mail. Otherwise, from the Home screen, tap Settings.
    2. On the Settings screen, tap Mail.
    3. On the Mail screen, under Accounts, tap Add Account.
    4. On the Add Account screen, tap Other.
    5. Select IMAP and then enter your account information using your keypad.

    17. Verify under Incoming Mail ServerIncoming Uses SSL to OFF, with Incoming Server Port being set to 143 and Outgoing Uses SSL  is optional with the Outgoing Server port being 25 or 5125.

iPhone4

iPhone IMAP/POP Mailbox Setup Instructions

The following screenshots will assist you with setting up your mailbox with your iPhone using IMAP or POP

1. Select Settings from your iPhone home menu

2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars

3. Select Add Account...

4. Select Other

5. Select Add Mail Account

6. Substitute the below fields for the correct credentials regarding your email address information.

7. Select IMAP or POP> Refer to the INCOMING / OUTGOING SETTINGS below depending on which system you are on. You need to complete all fields.

 

INCOMING SETTINGS FOR IMAP or POP
• Host Name - imap.bluetie.com or pop.bluetie.com
• Username - Use Full Bluetie Email Address
• Password - Use Correct Bluetie Password

OUTGOING SETTINGS FOR IMAP
• Host Name - smtp.bluetie.com
• Username - Use Full Bluetie Email Address
• Password - Use Correct BluetiePassword

 

 

         ***Attention***

Bluetie requires authentication, so please
make sure you enter your username or email address and password under the Outgoing
Server Settings too!

 

 

11. From your iPhone Home Screen, Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Select the Account in Question > Select your Account

12. Under Outgoing Mail Server, Select SMTP

13. Confirm the Primary Server is ON, Select the Primary Server

14. Confirm you've completed the Host Name, User Name, and Password fields. Change Authentication to PASSWORD. Select DONE, Select Account (top left)

 

Treo 650

VersaMail

  1. Press the Applications button and select VersaMail
  2. Click the Menus button
  3. Select Accounts and then select Account Setup, and then select New
  4. Select Other from the Mail Service drop-down menu and select Next
  5. Enter the account username and password and select Next
  6. Enter your email address
  7. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type pop.bluetie.com
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtp.bluetie.com and select Next
  9. Select the Advanced button
  10. Leave the Incoming Mail server set as default (Port 110 with both checkboxes unchecked)
  11. Select the Next button
  12. You can leave the Outgoing Mail Port Number set to 25 or switch to 5125 if having trouble sending
  13. Check the box for Use authentication (ESMTP) and select Done

Treo 680

VersaMail

  1. Press the Applications button and select VersaMail
  2. If this is the first email account you’ve set up in VersaMail, you’ll see an initial setup option. Select Continue. Otherwise, click the Menus button and from the Accounts menu, select Account Setup.
  3. Select New
  4. Give this account a name. It can be anything you like, such as "My Email". Select Other from the Mail Service drop-down menu and select Next
  5. Enter the account username and password and select Next
  6. Enter your email address
  7. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type pop.bluetie.com
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtp.bluetie.com and select Next
  9. Select the Advanced button
  10. Leave the Incoming Mail server set as default (Port 110 with both checkboxes unchecked)
  11. Select the Next button
  12. You can leave the Outgoing Mail Port Number set to 25 or switch to 5125 if having trouble sending
  13. Check the box for Use authentication (ESMTP), and be sure that the username and password fields are filled out. Click Done

Treo 700 / 750

  1. Go to the Today screen and press Messaging
  2. Press Menu and select Tools then New Account
  3. Enter the email address that you want to set up, and press Next
  4. Wait until the Status box displays completed, and then press Next
  5. Enter your name, username, and password
  6. If you want to enter your password each time you access this account, do not check the Save password box. If you want your
  7. password entered automatically, check this box
  8. Press Next
  9. Select the Account type list, and then select POP3
  10. Enter a name for this account, and then press Next . For example, if this is your work email account, enter “Work” or your company’s name
  11. Enter the name of the incoming mail server as pop.bluetie.com and outgoing mail server as smtp.bluetie.com
  12. Select Options and verify that Outgoing Server Requires Authentication is checked
