Microsoft Outlook 2007 with SSL

Configuring Outlook 2007 w/SSL for POP3 service

  1. Click the Tools menu and select Account Setting
  2. The Account Settings window will open. Click on the New icon
  3. In the Add New E-mail Account window, select the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP option and then click the Next button.
  4. In the Auto Account Setup window, place a checkmark in the box next to the option: Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click on the Next button.
  5. In the Choose E-mail Service window, select the first option, Internet E-mail. Click the Next button.
  6. Enter your name as you would like it appear when sending messages in the Your Name field.
  7. Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail Address field.
  8. Type pop.bluetie.com for the Incoming mail server (POP3) and smtp.bluetie.com for the Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  9. Type your User Name (username.enterprise or your email address) and Password (same as used to login to the web application)
    Put a checkmark in the Remember Password box.
  10. Click the More Settings button
  11. Click the Outgoing Server tab
  12. Check the box for My server requires authentication
  13. Click on the circle next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  14. Click the Advanced tab
  15. Check the box for Leave a copy of message on the server if you want to access your email from the web application as well.
  16. Check the box, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
  17. Verify that the ougoing port is either '25' or '5125'.
  18. Click OK
  19. Click Next
  20. Click Finish, the Account Wizard will close.
