Configuring Outlook Express or 2000 for IMAP service
- Click the Tools menu
- Choose Accounts
- Click the Add button
- Choose Mail
- Type your Display Name (Usually First and Last name) and click Next
- Type the Email Address assigned to your user name and click Next
- Verify that IMAP is selected from the drop-down menu
- For Incoming mail server, type imap.bluetie.com
- For Outgoing mail server, type smtp.bluetie.com
- Click Next
- For Account name, type your user name (username.enterprise) or your email address
- Type your Password (same one used to login to the web application)
- Verify that Remember Password is checked and click Next
- Click the Finish button
- Double-click on the BlueTie account under either the All tab or the Mail tab
- Click the Servers tab
- Check the box for My server requires authentication
- Click the Apply button, then the OK button, and then Close
- When prompted with Do you want to download folders from the mail server you added?, click Yes
- Click the OK button
Configuring Outlook Express or 2000 w/SSL for IMAP service
- Launch Outlook Express
- Click Tools --> Accounts, The Accounts window appears
- Click the Mail tab
- Click the Add button then choose Mail, the Internet Connection Wizard appears.
- Add your Display Name. Enter the name you want others to see in the From: field when you send E-mail, then click Next.
- Enter your E-mail address, then click Next
- Change the value beside "My incoming mail server is a". to IMAP.
- Input the IMAP server imap.bluetie.com into the Incoming mail server field.
- Input the SMTP server smtp.bluetie.com into the Outgoing mail server field. Click Next.
- Enter your complete E-mail address or User Name (mailboxname@domainname.com) in the Account Name field.
- Enter your BlueTie account password and click Next.
- Note: You can set Outlook Express to remember your password if you don't want to type it in every time you check for new messages.
- Click Finish, the Internet Connection Wizard will close.
- Click the Mail tab, the Mail Accounts window appears
- Click the account you just created, then click the Properties button
- Click the Servers tab
- Check the box beside My server requires authentication, then click the Settings button
- Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server and click OK
- Click on the Advanced tab.
- Check the box, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both the Incoming (IMAP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
- Click Apply, then OK to close the properties window. The Internet Accounts window will reappear.
- Click OK to exit the Internet Accounts window, your E-mail set-up is complete.
