IMAP Setup

Configuring Outlook 2002 or XP for IMAP service

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Choose Email Accounts
  3. Click Add a new e-mail account and click Next
  4. In the Server Type listing, choose IMAP and click Next
  5. Type Your Name and the Email Address assigned to your account
  6. Type your User Name (username.enterprise or your email addres) and Password (same as used to login to the web application)
  7. Type imap.bluetie.com for the Incoming mail server and smtp.bluetie.com for the Outgoing mail server
  8. Click the More Settings button
  9. Click the Outgoing Server tab
  10. Check the box for My server requires authentication
  11. Click the OK button, then the Next button and then Finish

Configuring Outlook 2002 or XP w/SSL for IMAP service

  1. Launch Outlook 2002/ XP
  2. Click Tools --> Email Accounts, The Accounts window appears
  3. Check the Add new Email Account button
  4. Click Next
  5. The Server Accounts window appears select IMAP.
  6. Click Next
  7. The Internet Email Settings window appears
  8. In the User Information fields add you’re Your Name. Enter the name you want others to see in the From: field when you send E-mail.
  9. Enter your e-mail address
  10. In the Login Information field Enter your complete E-mail address or User Name
  11. Enter your e-mail account password
  12. Note: You can set Outlook Express to remember your password if you don't want to type it in every time you check for new messages.
  13. In the Server Information field Input the POP3 server imap.bluetie.com into the Incoming mail server field.
  14. Input the SMTP server smtp.bluetie.com into the Outgoing mail server field.
  15. Click on More Settings
  16. Click on the Outgoing Server tab
  17. Check the box beside My server requires authentication
  18. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  19. Click on the Advanced tab
  20. Check the box, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both the Incoming (IMAP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
  21. Click OK
  22. Click Next
  23. Click Finish, the Internet Connection Wizard will close.
