Configuring POP & IMAP for Outlook 2007

IMAP Setup

Configuring Outlook 2007 for IMAP service

  1. Click the Tools menu and select Account Setting
  2. The Account Settings window will open. Click on the New icon
  3. In the Add New E-mail Account window, select the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP option and then click the Next button.
  4. In the Auto Account Setup window, place a checkmark in the box next to the option: Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click on the Next button.
  5. In the Choose E-mail Service window, select the first option, Internet E-mail. Click the Next button.
  6. Enter your name as you would like it appear when sending messages in the Your Name field.
  7. Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail Address field.
  8. Press the down arrow for the Account Type and select IMAP
  9. Type imap.bluetie.com for the Incoming mail server (IMAP) and smtp.bluetie.com for the Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  10. Type your User Name (username.enterprise or your email address) and Password (same as used to login to the web application)
    Put a checkmark in the Remember Password box.
  11. Click the More Settings button
  12. Click the Outgoing Server tab
  13. Check the box for My server requires authentication
  14. Click on the circle next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  15. Click the Advanced tab
  16. Verify that the incoming port is 143 and the outgoing port is either 25 or 5125 (*if you have trouble sending email, please use 5125)
  17. Click the OK button, then the Next button and then Finish 

IMAP Setup With SSL

Configuring Outlook 2007 w/SSL for IMAP service

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. The Account Settings window will open. Click on the New icon
  3. In the Add New E-mail Account window, select the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP option and then click the Next button.
  4. In the Auto Account Setup window, place a checkmark in the box next to the option: Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Click on the Next button.
  5. In the Choose E-mail Service window, select the first option, Internet E-mail. Click the Next button.
  6. Enter your name as you would like it appear when sending messages in the Your Name field.
  7. Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail Address field.
  8. Press the down arrow for the Account Type and select IMAP
  9. Type imap.bluetie.com for the Incoming mail server (POP3) and smtp.bluetie.com for the Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  10. Type your User Name (username.enterprise or your email address) and Password (same as used to login to the web application)

  11. Click the More Settings button
  12. Click the Outgoing Server tab
  13. Check the box for My server requires authentication
  14. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  15. Click the Advanced tab
  16. Verify that the incoming port is 110 and the outgoing port is either 25 or 5125 (*if you have trouble sending email, please use 5125)
  17. Check the box for Leave a copy of message on the server if you want to access your email from the web application as well
  18. Check the box, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
  19. Click OK
  20. Click Next
  21. Click Finish, the Account Wizard will close.  

 

POP Setup
