Setup instructions for configuring POP accounts on various mobile devices

Blackberry

Blackberry devices can receive emails in one of three ways:

Forward all emails to the blackberry email address

  1. Login to the web application
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click Email Forwarding
  4. Click the Status to On
  5. Type the blackberry email address into the Delivery field (if not known contact your service provider such as Verizon, Cingular,etc)
  6. Check Save local copy
  7. Click the Save button

Setup POP account using the service provider website

  1. Login to the blackberry email setup page provided by the service provider
  2. Email setup pages vary from service provider to service provider but will all require the following settings:

 

Incoming mail server: pop.bluetie.com
Incoming mail port: 110
Requires SSL: No
Email Address: The email address assigned to your BlueTie account
Username: BlueTie Username (username.enterprise or email address)
Password: The password for the BlueTie account (case sensitive)

Setup IMAP account using the service provider website

  1. Login to the blackberry email setup page provided by the service provider
  2. Email setup pages vary from service provider to service provider but will all require the following settings:

 

Incoming mail server: imap.bluetie.com
Incoming mail port: 143
Requires SSL: No
Email Address: The email address assigned to your BlueTie account
Username: BlueTie Username (username.enterprise or email address)
Password: The password for the BlueTie account (case sensitive)

 

*If you receive a bounce back error when sending via your BlackBerry that looks like this:

554 5.7.1 Sender address rejected: BlueTie SMTP R5: unauthorized use of domain

Please check your outgoing server settings on your Blackberry Device. Verify that the outgoing server is set to SMTP.BLUETIE.COM. This error usually results in sending out via a BlueTie email address from a server other than BlueTie's outgoing server.

Cingular 2125, T-Mobile MDA

Cingular 2125, T-Mobile MDA

  1. On the Home screen, click Start
  2. Select Messaging and click any item on the Messaging screen
  3. Click Menu, then Options, and then New Account
  4. Type Your Name and E-mail address
  5. Select to Automatically configure the account settings. If unsuccessful enter the settings below:

User name: This is the username for your email account
Password: This is the password assigned to your account
Domain: Not required
Server type: POP3
Account name: Enter a unique name for the account such as "Work" or "Home"
Incoming server: pop.bluetie.com
Require SSL connection: Not supported
Outgoing server: smtp.bluetie.com
Outgoing server requires authentication: YES
Outgoing server settings: Use same settings as incoming server

Treo 650

VersaMail

  1. Press the Applications button and select VersaMail
  2. Click the Menus button
  3. Select Accounts and then select Account Setup, and then select New
  4. Select Other from the Mail Service drop-down menu and select Next
  5. Enter the account username and password and select Next
  6. Enter your email address
  7. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type pop.bluetie.com
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtp.bluetie.com and select Next
  9. Select the Advanced button
  10. Leave the Incoming Mail server set as default (Port 110 with both checkboxes unchecked)
  11. Select the Next button
  12. You can leave the Outgoing Mail Port Number set to 25 or switch to 5125 if having trouble sending
  13. Check the box for Use authentication (ESMTP) and select Done

Treo 680

VersaMail

  1. Press the Applications button and select VersaMail
  2. If this is the first email account you’ve set up in VersaMail, you’ll see an initial setup option. Select Continue. Otherwise, click the Menus button and from the Accounts menu, select Account Setup.
  3. Select New
  4. Give this account a name. It can be anything you like, such as "My Email". Select Other from the Mail Service drop-down menu and select Next
  5. Enter the account username and password and select Next
  6. Enter your email address
  7. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type pop.bluetie.com
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtp.bluetie.com and select Next
  9. Select the Advanced button
  10. Leave the Incoming Mail server set as default (Port 110 with both checkboxes unchecked)
  11. Select the Next button
  12. You can leave the Outgoing Mail Port Number set to 25 or switch to 5125 if having trouble sending
  13. Check the box for Use authentication (ESMTP), and be sure that the username and password fields are filled out. Click Done

Treo 700 / 750

Treo 700 / 750

  1. Go to the Today screen and press Messaging
  2. Press Menu and select Tools then New Account
  3. Enter the email address that you want to set up, and press Next
  4. Wait until the Status box displays completed, and then press Next
  5. Enter your name, username, and password
  6. If you want to enter your password each time you access this account, do not check the Save password box. If you want your
  7. password entered automatically, check this box
  8. Press Next
  9. Select the Account type list, and then select POP3
  10. Enter a name for this account, and then press Next . For example, if this is your work email account, enter “Work” or your company’s name
  11. Enter the name of the incoming mail server as pop.bluetie.com and outgoing mail server as smtp.bluetie.com
  12. Select Options and verify that Outgoing Server Requires Authentication is checked
